Speaker Profile: Chavunga Lungu

CHAVUNGA LUNGU MBA, BA, FCIM, FZIM, MIODZ. Chavunga Lungu is a distinguished strategic business leader and award-winning marketing professional with over 20 years of experience across the public and private sectors. A Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM-UK) and the Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM), he is recognized for his expertise in domestic and international marketing, corporate strategy, and customer experience management. Currently, Chavunga is the Executive Director of Strateffect Advisory Solutions, where he advises on strategic growth and marketing development. His leadership history includes serving as Director of Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer at the Zambia Tourism Agency, where he also held the position of interim Chief Executive Officer for over a year, successfully navigating the tourism sector through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. His extensive corporate background includes senior roles as Head of Customer Experience at Absa Bank Zambia, and marketing leadership positions at Barclays Bank and Stanbic Bank. He also brings significant advertising expertise from tenures at ZK Advertising and Saatchi & Saatchi. Chavunga holds an MBA International Business from the University of Greenwich, a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, and a Professional Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing CIM – UK. Furthermore, he possesses an Advanced Diploma in Information Management and has received training in International Diplomacy. He is deeply engaged in corporate governance, serving as a Board Director at ZAMCOM and participating in the Technical Working Group for Brand Zambia. He has previously served on the boards and committees of the Institute of Directors (IoDZ), ZIPS, and the Council of the Zambia Institute of Marketing.
