Speaker Profile: Cisanga Mwanza

Cisanga Mwanza is a seasoned communications strategist, sustainability advocate, and tourism industry professional with over two decades of experience spanning hospitality leadership, strategic communications, public relations, stakeholder engagement, and event-driven tourism initiatives within Zambia’s evolving MICE sector. She currently serves as the Chairperson of the Event Professionals Association of Zambia (EPAZ), where she is actively championing the growth, professionalisation, and sustainability of Zambia’s Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry.
Through her leadership, she advocates for stronger industry standards, local capacity development, destination competitiveness, and the positioning of events as catalysts for tourism growth and economic inclusion. Cisanga is also the Co-Founder of Chilengedwe Zambia, a communications social enterprise focused on climate change education, conservation advocacy, sustainability communications, and community impact initiatives.
Her work supports organisations, institutions, and development partners in driving meaningful sustainability conversations and community centred engagement. Over the years, she has contributed to major regional and international tourism and investment platforms, including the UN Tourism Commission for Africa Summit, the CAF CAM Summit, ZATEX, the EU-Zambia Business Forum, and various national tourism and trade initiatives. Her expertise sits at the intersection of tourism, strategic communications, sustainable development, and destination branding. She brings a practical and forward-looking perspective on how sustainable and inclusive MICE development can strengthen local economies, build resilient tourism ecosystems, and empower communities across Africa.
